HOMEDIARYWHO THEY WERETHE CLOGGERS

Home Page

Welcome

This is the archived home of the Northern Whippets & Clogs Biking Group otherwise known as the Northern Cloggers.  They were a biking group mainly comprising of Honda CBR1100-XX Super Blackbird riders, although by no means exclusively, and were based in the North of England.  Having said that, they did have members as far north as Scotland and south to Bognor Regis in West Sussex!  Their events were that attractive!

Their principal interest was in ride-outs but they also organised other events ranging from social get-togethers to motorcycle show visits, basically anything that looked like fun.

The group comprised of all ages from young whippersnappers to old gimmers, solo and two-up machines ridden by both lads n’ lasses, and a range of rider paces.   Most bikes were ‘Birds but there were a few other makes and models that regularly attended.  They'd developed a very effective method of organising and managing ride-outs that could accommodate this wide range of interests and abilities.  This was without compromising the freedom of individual riders or intimidating anyone, yet keeping a sensible eye on safety.  Their events were renowned for being easy and relaxed and through which many good friendships were forged.

So that they could put all their creative effort into the events themselves, and for attendees to get the most out of them, they had to create an events diary which was the main reason for the web site.

From the demise of the group arose the flourishing Flying Ferrets Biking Group
